![]() ![]() Another problem I had with this film and the remake are the actual mutants who just aren't scary. The break in the action moments should have worked better on a psychological level but instead they come off boring. The director does a good job during the more intense scenes but when they are quiet moments he simply loses everything. ![]() The screenplay by Craven and his son is rather interesting and works for the most part but sadly director Martin Weisz can't handled everything the script offers. ![]() Some make it out but the majority are chopped, raped, axed, knived and so on. In the movie, nine National Guard members are in the desert where the mutant cannibals from the first film live. Craven and his son wrote the screenplay to this film and it's interesting that they would because Craven, back in 1984, was forced to write a sequel to his 1977 film and it turned out to be a major disaster so I'm curious if he wrote this to make up for that film. Not the actual story itself but the behind the scenes stuff. Hills Have Eyes 2, The (2007) ** 1/2 (out of 4) Sequel to the 2006 remake of Wes Craven's classic shocker is a pretty interesting idea. ![]()
